The worker uses browser image and canvas features to create a JPEG or WebP result. The original and compressed copies remain in the current browser session until you leave, refresh, or replace the image. Selecting a file is therefore necessary; uploading it to CompressTo is not.

How to choose the correct target size

- PNG input: Supported, but the output is JPEG or WebP rather than PNG. Check transparency and sharp graphics carefully; JPEG cannot preserve transparent pixels.

The image will not select
Check that it is JPG/JPEG, PNG, WebP, BMP, or GIF and no larger than 50MB. HEIC and HEIF are rejected. If the picker cannot see a cloud-only image, make it available on the device using the service you already trust, then try again.
The original is already under the target
No compression is needed for that ceiling. Use the original, or choose a smaller target only when the destination requires it.
The result looks blurry

The form still rejects the file

You cannot find the download
Look in the browser’s downloads view and the phone’s Files, Downloads, or file-manager location. The exact location depends on the browser, operating-system version, and device settings.
