These terms explain the conditions that apply when you use CompressTo. By using the website or image compression tool, you agree to use the service responsibly and in accordance with applicable law.
Permitted use
You may use CompressTo free of charge for lawful personal, educational, professional, or business purposes. You may use the resulting compressed files in your own work, subject to any rights or restrictions that apply to the original images.
Your images and responsibilities
You retain responsibility for the images you process and for deciding how to use the results. You must own the images or have the necessary permission and legal rights to process, modify, and use them. CompressTo does not obtain ownership of your images.
Compression happens locally in your browser, but you should still keep a copy of every original image and review each compressed file before relying on it or submitting it elsewhere.
Compression results
Compression results vary according to the source image, file format, dimensions, visual complexity, browser capabilities, and selected target size. A smaller target may require stronger compression or reduced dimensions and may produce noticeable quality loss. You are responsible for confirming that the output file meets your technical and visual requirements.
Availability and changes
CompressTo is provided as a free service without a guarantee of uninterrupted, permanent, or error-free availability. Maintenance, technical problems, browser changes, or service updates may occasionally affect access or functionality. Features may be corrected, changed, or withdrawn when reasonably needed.
Prohibited use
You must not use CompressTo to:
- Break the law or encourage unlawful activity
- Process or distribute material that infringes another person's rights
- Abuse, disrupt, overload, probe, or attempt to compromise the website or its users
- Misrepresent CompressTo, Wstech, or the origin of the service
Limitation of liability
CompressTo is provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by applicable law, CompressTo and Web Solutions Technologies (Wstech) are not responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from use of the service, inability to access it, or reliance on a compressed result. This does not limit any responsibility that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
Keeping original files, checking downloaded results, and maintaining appropriate backups are practical ways to reduce the risk of loss.
