# Article 5 reproducible evidence package This package supports **“Image Dimensions vs File Size: What Does an Online Form Actually Check?”** The source is an original deterministic 1200 × 1500 RGB test image generated from gradients, seeded texture, and high-contrast project-drawn shapes. It is not a real application photograph, signature, private document, stock image, or AI-generated person. ## Reproduce the evidence From the repository root, run: ```powershell & 'C:\Users\pc\.cache\codex-runtimes\codex-primary-runtime\dependencies\python\python.exe' scripts\article5-image-dimensions-test\generate.py ``` Required tested environment: - Pillow 12.2.0 - NumPy 2.3.5 - Deterministic random seed `20260805` - Segoe UI fonts from the standard Windows font directory for the editorial graphics The driver executes the authoritative `article5_test.py`, validates every approved byte count, records SHA-256 checksums, and recreates all five graphics as WebP with PNG fallbacks. ## Measurement and result policy - Reader-facing KB values are exact bytes divided by 1,024 and rounded to one decimal place. - JPEG exports use Pillow optimization and 4:2:0 chroma subsampling. - The 600 × 750 result uses Lanczos resizing. - No file is padded and no result is selected to force a predetermined conclusion. - The manifest records exact encoder settings, dimensions, byte counts, and checksums. The test demonstrates that dimensions may stay unchanged while file size changes, reducing pixel count may reduce file size further, and changing only DPI metadata does not necessarily change stored bytes.
